Abstract

Abstract: The effect of the biopesticide - Derisom on certain metabolites and enzymes of carbohydrate metabolism were evaluated in Gill, Liver, Kidney and Muscle of fish Cyprinus carpio during sub-lethal toxicity exposure of 21 days. 0.28 ppm was taken as the sub – lethal concentration. The organs were taken from exposed and control fish at the end of 24 hrs, 7, 14 and 21 days and used for the estimation of total carbohydrates, total glycogen, S.D.H and L.D.H. All the four organs showed significant difference between control and exposed groups in all the estimated parameters on all days of exposure. The present study considers biochemical parameter as an important biomarker in determining the level of toxicity caused by the biopesticide – Derisom.
